Indian Experience Day

Year 6 have had such an exciting day. Today they spend the day with Sunita, learning all about India. They met Sunita at our whole school assembly, where she told everyone all about the story of Rama and Sita and why Diwali is celebrated. The children then produced some beautifully symmetrical Rangoli artwork. Sunita explained to the children all about the many faces of the one God that is so important to people who follow the Hindu religion. During the afternoon, everybody dressed in traditional clothing and showed off their Bollywood dance moves. Sunita finished our day with a very informative discussion all about the misconceptions that many children had of Indian life and culture. So much was learnt and the children had an amazing day.
