Lincoln Cathedral

The ancient cathedral remembers
The people who have entered,
Beginning their Christian journey
In the crowded nave.

The sun reflects the colours
Of the stained glass windows,
Rainbows become visible on the stone floor
Telling the stories of the bible.

Limestone that is filled with old fossils
That are over one million years old,
Sat within the cathedral
Used for its floor.

Big Tom chimes every hour
So you know when your late or not,
Count the chimes
And you'll be fine.

The organ sits within the cathedral
All elegant and old,
It is made with over 4,000 pipes
No wonder it can be heard.

The naughty imp who travelled with the wind
To Lincoln Cathedral,
He got turned to stone by the angels
For always causing commotion.
